FUEIHO BOOGIE（フーエイホーブギー）は、
Brit Indie(ブリットインディー）の音楽とスタイルをコンセプトに体現、提案しているお店です。
*Brit Indieとは… イギリスのインディーズロックバンドの事。
学生時代から音楽(Rock)が好きで、2012年よりイギリスのインディーロックにハマり、いつか古着と音楽を繋げて共有しながら、楽しめるお店をやってみたいと思い、2021年に覚王山にあるビンテージレコード店 ”SORC”と同じスペースでオープンしました。
2023年4月から10月までイギリスで生活をした経験。イギリス中の古着屋、レコード屋、100以上のライブに浸かり、古着屋店員、レコード店員、ディーラー、バンドマンと沢山話す中で、彼らが何を聴いて、何を着ているのか、そんな実体験を元にイギリス各地を周り、１点１点、手に取り目で見て、試着し、セレクトした古着を展開しています。
単なる古着屋ではなく、音楽のカルチャー(ブリティッシュロック)を軸に店主好みのイギリスカルチャー全開の古着とインディーズのレコード、更には”SORC”のセレクトによる60-70’sのクラシックロックやマニアックなレコードが同時に楽しめる唯一無二の空間です。
FUEIHO BOOGIE（フーエイホー ブギー）は、店主が好きなイギリスのインディーズバンド”SWIM DEEP”の曲名”FUEIHO BOOGIE”がそのまま店名になっています。この曲は彼らが初来日した2014年に日本で体験した事を元に作られた曲です。
当時、”The 1975″のサポートとして来日していた彼ら。ライブ後のテンションのままクラブへ行った際、セキュリティに”0時回ってるからもう踊れないよ”と言われ、その理由を聞いて驚きを隠せなかったVo.Austin。当時、日本には風俗営業法のダンス法という項目により、0時以降の営業が禁止されていた。それを知ったAustinは、”こんな法律があったらカルチャーも育たない、目を覚ませ日本(東京)と思ったそうです。その体験からこの法律を皮肉った曲を作ったと本人から聴きました。
なのでこの曲はFUEIHO（風営法）にあえてBOOGIE（踊る）をタイトルにし、あえてダンスチューンのサウンドに作ったRock魂が入った曲になっています。
日本の事を歌った曲ということもあり、本人達に店名にしたいと伝えたところ、最高だよ！と言ってもらい本人達公認の店名です。
もちろん、イギリス生活で彼らとは何度も会い、友人になって帰って来ました。ライブにも招待してもらい、FUEIHO BOOGIEも演奏してくれたのですが、演奏前のMCでお店まで紹介してもらい大感激でした。その後片付けを手伝いながら帰るまで一緒に過ごし、プレゼントも頂きました。それは店内で飾っているのでいるので来店の際は是非ご覧ください。
彼らをはじめとする向こうで知り合ったインディーバンドの応援もしていますので、いくつかのバンドのグッズ(レコードやTシャツ)も販売しています。

FUEIHO BOOGIE 小島慶治
I’m a big fan of indie bands, particularly those from the UK. With a love for rock music, I wanted to create a space where vintage clothing and music could come together. In 2021, I launched my shop in the same space as the vintage record store “SORC” in Kakuozan, Nagoya, JAPAN with the vision of enjoying the connection between vintage clothing and music.
For six months, from April to October 2023, I lived in the UK, traveling across the country, immersing themselves in vintage clothing stores, record shops, and live music events. Through real conversations with numerous musicians, they learned about what they listen to and what they wear. Drawing from these experiences, I’m retailing a collection of vintage clothing and indie records sourced from the UK.
More than just a vintage clothing store, this space is a unique blend of the shop my favorite aspects of UK culture, featuring vintage clothing with a focus on music culture, indie records, and a selection of 60-70’s classic rock and obscure records curated by SORC. It’s a one-of-a-kind space where customers can immerse themselves in the full spectrum of UK culture.
The origin of shop name is my favorite song played by “SWIM DEEP” fucking awesome band from UK!! It came about as a result of one of the songs about Japan. When I told the band members that I wanted to use the song title as the name of my shop, they said “Lovely, that’s amazing!” and gave their official approval for the name.

During my time in the UK, I attended their live performances several times, and they even performed the song, introducing my shop during their pre-performance MC. It was a truly exciting experience for me.
I also support indie bands I have met over there, including them, and sell merchandise such as records and T-shirts from several bands.
